The more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health [and] immunity to living longer. The  ideal dosage may be higher than the recommended dietary allowance."  Dr.Moyad suggests taking 500 milligrams a day, in addition to eating five servings of fruits and vegetables. Can we get our Vitamin C needs for best health from food?

Yes, and here is what you need to eat EVERYDAY to get 500mg of Vitamin C:
Cantaloupe, 1 cup (8 ounces): 59mg               Orange juice, 1 cup: 97mg
Broccoli, cooked, 1 cup: 74mg                         Red cabbage, 1/2 cup: 40mg
Green pepper, 1/2 cup, 60mg                          Red pepper, 1/2 cup, 95mg
Kiwi, 1 medium: 70mg                                    Tomato juice, 1 cup: 45mg.

Note that cooking destroys mich of Vitamin C in food. Being mostly contained in the watery part of fruits and vegetables, Vitamin c is easily lost during cooking in water, so the steaming of vegetables minimizes its loss.

Can we have too much Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin therefore excess amount is excreted in your urine. But the usual kind of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) can develop symptoms such as kidney stones and diarrhea because it is an acid. This is solved by our product because maxCEEmum is non-acidic. Dr. Linus Pauling, Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry recommends at least 2,000mg/day for adults who are healthy.
